Humanity India Trust in association with Euphorial Youth Society organised a campaign on menstruation awareness named as "Ready for Red: Let's Break The Shckles!" at V.B.S.I.T.I. College, Kaushabi with the courtesy of Smt. Sangeeta Singh on January 25th, 2022.
Inaugurating the program, the Founder and President of Euphorial Youth Society apprised all the people present in the program about Ready for Red. He told that Ready for Red is not just a program but a whole movement, which is being run by Euphorial Youth Society through online and offline medium in entire Uttar Pradesh, in which Humanity India Trust has also joined. Taking the program further, he said that even in today's progressive society, there are many misconceptions about periods or menstruation which are very important to remove. Even today people shy away from talking about it openly. Since no body talks about this gentle topic, women do not get the right information, due to which they have to face a lot of problems. Devesh continued, that under this movement he is covering five points in which, the first is to break the silence for menstruation so that we can challenge and eliminate the shame and secrecy around menstruation. Second; providing girls and women with knowledge of the menstrual life cycle, linking it to sexual and mental health, and ensuring body-positive menstrual literacy. Third; breaking the taboos associated with menstruation and moving forward to end the associated stigma and discrimination. Fourth; ensuring the safe disposal of all types of menstrual hygiene products. Fifth; to enable women to make informed choices by ensuring information about various products and their safe use and disposal.
Moving further, Euphorial Youth Society's Women Wing's Leader, Suhani Singh explained all the five aspects in detail with the help of PPT. She also broke many superstitious beliefs by simple logic and examples. In the chain, Dr. Suryabhan Kushwaha, Founder and President of Humanity India Trust and Dr. Anshu Maurya, Health Officer, explained about how to maintain proper personal and menstrual heath & hygiene along with maintaining proper diet. They even cleared all the queries of the audience. And likewise, the CEO of Humanity India Trust, Aman Yadav explained how to dispose used pads properly. In the end, Anish Pandey, vice-president of the Euphorial Youth Society, along with the Principal of the college, Mrs. Sangeeta Singh, distributed sanitary pads to all the women on behalf of both the institutions and established a pad bank. From now on, because of this pad bank, those poor women will be able to easily get free pads at door step. In the same way, cumulative small efforts can bring a big change in the society.
